The BIG News can now be revealed!!! Martin Garoni is now the Head Coach of the Ginninderra Cricket Club for the 2012/13 & 2013/14 seasons. Martin, who briefly coached Fiji’s national men’s team in 2001, has been coaching the ACT Meteors since 2007 in the National Women’s Domestic Competition with much success, and said yesterday he was looking forward to the challenge of Coaching the Tigers. Martin is a qualified Level 3 Coach and was the Regional Cricket Manager for Cricket NSW from 2001-2005. On behalf of the Ginninderra Cricket Club, we wish Martin the best of luck and look forward to much success in coming the seasons!

The 2011/12 Ginninderra Presentation Night was a great success and was enjoyed by all who attended. Darren Walker was the MC for the night and had things running like a well oiled machine. Darren Walker was made a Life Member of the club & so were Gary Stephenson, Nick McClintok & Stephen Whittaker. Andrew Kiley won the prestigious award with 32 wickets @ 19.94 as well as picking up the Player of the Year award for 1st – 3rd grade & Players Players for 1st Grade. A big thanks to Simon Helmot who was the guest speaker for the night. Simon gave us an insight into professional cricket and told some good stories along the way.

Congratulations to all who won awards on the night and for those who were made Life Members of the Club, a great honor indeed!

Both sides have taken out their Grand Finals and have made Ginninderra Cricket Club extremely proud! Congratulations to all players for a fantastic season and what a way to finish it off by becoming the Premiers!. Well done to all the coaching staff for no doubt a long hard season and getting the players to where they are today. Ginninderra Cricket Club have joined Cricket clubs right across Australia to support the McGrath Foundation’s mission to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as increasing breast awareness in young women.
