Grading sessions for under 11s to under 18s

Under 11 to U18 teams are put into grades, under 9s,under 10s and junior girls are ungraded. In most age groups we have more than 1 side and from under 11 onwards the competition has different divisions in each age group. The purpose of the grading sessions is to assist the club in determining what is the most appropriate team for each child to play in. The grading days are the most efficient method of determining playing abilities compared to conducting trial matches which require suitable venue availability which cannot be guaranteed so early in the season. It is also a great opportunity to have a good pre season practice session. We do try where possible to place friendship groups in the same teams; however this is not always possible due to different playing abilities. Grading is not compulsary and if you don’t attend either of the grading days for your age group you will usually be placed in the lower division for that age group. To be graded you only have to attend one of the sessions for your age group but you are most welcome to attend both sessions. If you are unable to attend either grading day but you still want to play division 1 please contact your age group co-ordinator to discuss.

Grading is conducted by independent selectors. Grading session times are as follows, all at Kippax Oval:
