Ginninderra Juniors selected for India trip September/October 2011
The club is pleased to announce three of their current junior players have been selected to represent the ACT U15 team on a tour of India from the 29th September to the 9th October.
Harry Lang, Nuhash Mahmood and Matthew Miles along with 12 other young cricketers from the ACT will have a chance to play against some of the top young cricketers in India competing in both T20 and 50 overs cricket matches over a period of ten days. They will also have an opportunity to be involved in one of India’s leading junior cricket academies in Delhi and the possibility of coaching from previous Indian greats such as Anil Kumble. The director of the academy, Madan Lal, played for India in their successful World Cup victory in 1983.
It will be a wonderful opportunity for the boys to live and play in some very trying conditions, which will be well outside their comfort zone. ACT cricket have recently sent two teams, U17 and U19 to India for two weeks and reported the boys had a wonderful and eye opening time. Our boys will return with a new outlook on life and memories that will last a lifetime.
