29th January 2011 – 4th Grade vs Weston Creek

Ginninderra 142 v Creek 8/303.

What a fantastic result……..if you are from Weston Creek.

After losing the toss on a good wicket and fast outflield the Tigers were up against it early with Creek being something like 0/80 off the first 10 and it didn’t get much better from there.

BT 3/69 and Gez 3/30 were the multiple wicket takers.

Tom Powell also bowled well for no result, not being able to bowl many balls at a right-hander made things difficult.  Once again Tommy showed how it should be done in the field with another outstanding performance.

There top scorer made 78 and was dropped on 0 and caught off a no-ball shortly after…..costly misses boys.  The captain takes the blame for the no-ball with not enough fielders stationed on the off-side.

Thanks to Griffo for taking the gloves at short notice, tough work when you are 9ft  tall.

In the run-chase pretty much everyone who didn’t get a duck got out in the teens.  BT was unlucky to get a roller, Benny smoked it for 26 and Griffo was Griffo like providing much entertainment with the stick in hand.

The highlight came late in the day when BT decided to take his shirt off, this made the whole day worthwhile for everyone.  With only 6 weeks left in the season hopefully this sight is seen again before the Tigers go into hibernation for the winter.
