Tugg 8/150 (50) v Ginninderra DNB
After restricting Tugg to 8/150 we didn’t get a chance with the bat after lightning shortened our afternoon on the field.
The decision to go with 4 spinners proved a winner with the guys taking a combined 6/85 from 32 overs. Nicko opened the bowling with his off-breaks and had 1/17 (10), Tommy Powell 1-12 (4), Tommy C 1/27 (8) and the captain 3/29 (10).
Bowling at not much faster than spinners pace something he calls ‘taking the energy out of the ball’ BT came on and took a wicket first ball and finished with 2-13 (5).
Special mention to Benny Newman who got through his 10 overs and only conceded 23 runs. Take out the 7 wides and it wasn’t bad for a dude coming back from injury. He probably beat the bat 23 times as well bowling the gas down the hill.
Probably the highlight of the afternoon was Gez running 150 metres in his black singlet and cricket trousers to announce himself to 2 ladies/children crossing the field. Like Gez’s bowling figures 0/20 (3) they were unimpressed. You would have thought a dude with a mullet a Torana would have been a chance down in Tuggeranong……….
