14th November 2010 – T20 Division 3 vs Norths

In weather best suited to anything but cricket, we finally cracked it for a win.
In actual fact the constant drizzle was a good thing after being sent in on a very strange looking pitch, allowing the ball to skid through, rather than pop at the batsmans head.  Perhaps we should have played the game on one of Trev’s backyard strips which are apparently much better.

Our top 3 did a good job – Bomber 13, McCaughan 25 and BT 32 getting us off to a quick start.  A quick 10 from Jacob later saw us at 8/106 off 16.  A very pleasing score given the conditions.

After the 2 spinners opened the bowling (Tick-Tock 1-16 off 4 and McCaughan 1-15 off 3) and took a couple of early ones, the game was always well in hand.  Norths were eventually bundled out for 67.  BT capped a cracking match with 3/7, old man Ryan had 2/4 and John Mammoliti 1/8.  Bomber also bagged 2/14 following the plan to bowl as slowly as possible.

The fielding yesterday was outstanding…….perhaps playing in the rain is not so bad after all.
