The 2010/11 season kicked off with Norths winning the toss and electing to bat first. Initially this decision may have seemed unwise with great opening spells from Pat Jackson and Adam O’Connor. Both Pat and Adam bowled tight consistent lines and were rewarded with early wickets.

The momentum was with the Tigers but that began to swing and unfortunately the screws were loosened due to some sloppy change bowling and some equally disappointing fielding through the middle of the day.

At tea Norths had moved to 5/140 odd and the game was in the balance.

After tea the tigers clawed back into the game thanks to another great bowling display from Adam who finished with 5 well deserved scalps to his name.

A swashbuckling innings from a Norths tail ender took the opposition up to 257 before they were dismissed leaving the Tigers with 40 minutes left to bat the day out.

Nick McClintock and Michael Wojtaszak were faced with the challenge.

Nick was shortly dismissed LBW to a worm burner that pitched short of a length and Woj followed soon after to a ball that popped, hit high on the shoulder of the bat and was caught.

Ginninderra will resume day 2 at 2/32 with James Mueller and Lachlan McLennan at the crease.
