Women’s Cricket

In its history, the Ginninderra Cricket Club has competed for two seasons in the women’s competitions in the region. Despite this, Ginninderra has had Julie Hunter (Victoria, Hobart Hurricanes and Australia) and Kris Britt (South Australia, Melbourne Renegades and Australia) both previously involved with the club at the junior level.

Ginninderra Cricket Club is launching a womens cricket program in 2017 and invites all new players to join in for a top season of senior women’s cricket. The Ginninderra women’s team will pride itself on participation for all as a means of developing players skills and learning of the game in an enjoyable atmosphere. All levels of skill are welcome.

Our side will compete in the Lynne O’Meara 40 over competition Comp (5 rounds) and the Glenda Hall Twenty20 competition (10 rounds) which runs from October through to March. Games are played Sunday with home games being played at Kippax 1 (The Nest). Games are played on turf pitches starting at 10:00am with cricket spikes required to play on turf pitches.

Training is held from 5:00pm to 7:30pm on Tuesdays at Kippax 2 and commences in August. The club provides experienced qualified coaching and equipment for new players.
