Girl's Cricket - Glenda Hall Shield
Age group: approximately 10-16 years
Season - 8 week pre-Christmas (24th /26th Oct – 12th /14th Dec)
6 week post Christmas (6th /8th Feb- 20th /22nd Mar) - round byeWomen's World Cup weekend (6th/8th March)
GOLD SHIELD – less experienced cricketers – Friday nights – 8- a sidemodified pairs cricket, with protective gear – 16 overs per side
Cost of the Gold competition is $50 per player which will cover groundhire, insurance and match balls, games will be played on syntheticpitches
BLUE SHIELD – more experienced cricketers – Sunday afternoons –8-a-side - 24 over per side quarter cricket, with protective gear
Cost of Blue competition is $70 per player which will cover insurance,ground hire, match balls and 1 umpire. Some games will be played onturf, some on synthetic, depending on availability
Players should be placed according to their level of experience,rather than simply on their age.
